Aren't assistants just for rich people?

That used to be true, but not anymore.

First we've worked hard to create a team of highly trained, incredibly nice people. The team is the foundation of our service, and we have the best around.

Next we invested just as heavily in technology, arming our talented team with the best infrastructure and tools in the industry. This has brought previously unseen efficiency and capabilities to our service.

This modern combination allows us to bring an extremely high quality service to nearly anyone, something that was previously reserved to the elite. We're proud of what we created and we can't wait for you to become a client!

Do I get a team or a specific assistant?

Everything a client sends in goes to the same person, a team lead, who then assigns the task to whoever is best suited to handle it internally. This way the team lead gets to know how you work best, while also being able to leverage the various skillsets of the entire team.

Once the task is complete, the team lead then double checks the work to ensure it is done to the highest level of quality before returning it back to you.

What types of tasks can you do?

A general guideline is we're able to do anything a smart, capable person with a computer and internet connection can do, so almost anything. To give an idea, some of our most common tasks include making reservations, researching topics, making calls, and vetting businesses.

What types of tasks can you not do?

A few things we can not do include anything involving impersonation, professional licenses, a physical presence, inbound phone calls, or highly techincal skills (such as video editing or graphic design, but we can happily find you someone who can).

How quickly are tasks completed?

It of course depends on the size of that task itself, but most tasks sent in my clients are completed by the next day. If something is urgent please let your Second know, and we'll do our best to prioritize and accomdate you.

How do you track the hours used?

We keep track of how long the work you send takes in our internal systems and send you a weekly report. You can also ask for an update at any time.

What if I decide I don't want to continue using Second?

We'll move mountains to make you happy, but if you no longer want to be a client simply let us know and we'll cancel your account immediately. The service is month to month and you can cancel at any time.

When do you work?

We work 8am to 5pm Pacific time Monday through Friday. Feel free to send in requests whenever is convenient however! We also take the following holidays off:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Day After Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day

How do you introduce yourself to others?

We introduce ourselves as your personal assistant.

What happens if I need more hours than my plan has? Or want to limit the hours used?

By default you can use as many hours as you like, so there's no need to worry about bumping into a limit. If however you want to place a limit on the hours you use just let your Second know!
